POST-SECONDARY REPRESENTATIVE VISITS
We have a number of college, university, tech school, and military representatives that come to our school to visit with interested seniors and juniors. A representative will contact me and we set up a mutually-agreeable time, which is then put in the daily announcements. It is always up to the instructor, the students have at the time of the visit, whether they will be allowed to come to the presentation. Our teachers are very cooperative in letting students come if they are genuinely interested, if there is not something major they need to stay in class for, and if they have been working in class up to expectations.
I do encourage the students to visit as many as possible, as I feel it gives them a broader spectrum of what is out there and may open some doors they had not even considered. They also have a chance to ask questions about college life in general.
I also encourage the students to visit the various websites that are available on the internet. Most of the post-secondary institutions now have excellent websites; below are just a few.
Here are three more websites
you might try.
The first one provides virtual college tours of over 850 colleges and universities ~ www.CampusTours.com
The second one provides
college planning information ~
